One of my passions is macro eye photography and every time i get closer to the people in front of me to capture the beauty of their eyes, i'm mesmerized by what i see: it's like i'm a multidimensional traveller, going through the infinite multiverse and experiencing the uniqueness of each planet like eyes.
Inspired by the idea that "we're not just humans experiencing the universe, we're also the universe experiencing itself." I wanted to recreate the intimate and transcending moments that i experience while doing this kind of photography.
There are 2 systems of particles:
- the universe's particles (darker hues): this system is most reactive to the music that is being played, but the public can slightly interact with it as well, symbolizing that no matter how hard we try, our impact as humans in the vastness of the universe, no matter how big, are ultimately insignificant.
- the humans particles (lighter hues): this system reacts to the movement of the visitors. The more they move, the greater the impact. If people move fast enough, they'll be able to see the outline of their human shape but only for a split second. Because even though a human life might seem long enough, compared to the age of the universe, it is just a fractionary moment.
The music was created by an open AI source (AIVA) using a sonification of the map of all of the discovered galaxies that NASA has released on the internet. After multiple iterations and modifying some parameters, the AI has come with its own version of the "Sound of the Universe".
This way people can experience the interaction with the universe by moving around, while also witnessing the universe interacting with itself via sound.
