Mentor - Artivive Mentorship Program (6-month program; 2023)
The Artivive Mentoring Program connects artists with the common goal of learning, professional development, and support. The final artworks of the mentees were displayed in a special curated exhibition that revolves around the theme of “Breakthrough”, which took place on April 14th at the Artivive HQ in Wien, Austria.
Festival University 2022 (1-month program; 2022)
I was selected among other 199 students from over 70 countries and spent four weeks at the Festival University of Ars Electronica with JKU scientists, artists, and many other high-ranking experts from all areas of art, technology, science, and society. We developed strategies and solutions and experienced the complexity of one of the most significant challenges of our time in a fictitious international environmental court simulation (“The International Environmental and Climate Court”). The IECC have meet on Sept. 9, Sept. 10 and Sept. 11 at the Festival University Stage in KEPLER’S GARDENS and center petitions on water, climate migration and energy.

Clouded Consciousness - Sand as a communication interface between interactive technologies and the subconscious mind
The thesis explores the connection between contemporary technological advancements (cloud systems) and Carl Jung’s concept of the collective unconscious. With the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), there is a growing need to have a deeper understanding of cyberpsychology, while also engaging in conversations around the ethics of technology and data ownership and privacy.
Clouded Consciousness is an interactive art installation that uses sand as a communication interface between the subconscious mind and the cloud. The work of Carl Jung is used to understand and classify data we leave behind in the digital realm, revealing subconscious behavior patterns. The intention is to invent a special kind of search engine, distinct from those exploiting personal data for targeted ads. Instead, it invites users to discover insights about their subconscious mind, fostering self-awareness and prompting reflection on the motivations behind their online searches. By writing in the sand snippets of information that are usually stored in the cloud, like online activity or internet searches, users can connect with their archetype and explore a personalized interplay of projected mandalas, generated by AI
This thesis employs a multidisciplinary approach and investigates how the digital era resonates with Jung’s theories. The aim of the research is to uncover the potential for the digital landscape to evoke and amplify archetypal motifs, influencing individual and collective thought patterns.

Latent Space Curation. A fluid Human-Centric AI Framework Embedding a Wallacei + StyleGAN Generation Workflow and an Affective Computing-based Latent Space Curation Process
Authors: Andreea ROBU-MOVILĂ, PhD, “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning, Bucharest
Diana CHIRU, researcher, CINETic Research Centre in Digital Interaction, UNATC I.L. Caragiale, Bucharest
At the fusion of architectural and algorithmic culture, computational tools are no longer just augmenting or aiding the design conception stage but tends to become autonomous thinking tools, even design methods in itself.
This new design framework that renders the latent space of all possible solutions to the architectural problem, confronts the designer with the “paradox of choice”. By acknowledging the fundamental role that emotions have in reasoning and decision-making, this study brings to light the opportunity of employing an EEG - based affective computing framework that employs the ERP (Event Related Potential) component for the purpose of addressing the paradox of choice.
The aim of this approach is to identify human-centric operative methods and strategies capable of humanizing the arid realm of computation in architecture and re-anchor the decisional role of the human factor within the generative processes. This interdisciplinary research lies at the intersection of architecture, cognitive science and computational science.
